Don’t miss out on claiming back your dental services
Do all health insurance policies reset on January 1st? No, but most do. The definition of annual that your insurer uses will depend on the calendar they use:
Some funds use the calendar year: 1 January to 31 December.
Some funds use the financial year: 1 July to 30 June.
Others define it by your sign-up date.
Your benefit limits reset at the end of each year, so check with your health fund to make sure you’re aware of what they deem to be the start of a new year.
It may also be worthwhile contacting your insurer to ask if your benefit limits are going to be rolled over from the previous year. Some are doing this as many customers were unable to utilise all of their benefits during COVID-19 restrictions.
Most insurers will email you before your benefits reset but, just in case this doesn’t happen we would hate to see you lose out on anything, so we have included the reset dates for most health funds below.
